There's a New Look about the Yesberg Team

With Sunday racing back at Addington this week, the shift from grass to grit coincides with some new faces stepping out in Ripple Creek colours. Racing on 30 May sees the debut of Ron McKinlay and first starts from the stable for Taliesin and Twilight Bromac. Rocknroll Diva steps out again after a nice third resuming a week ago.

Taliesin has been working well in his new surroundings and we’re very pleased with him. He’s still on the improve but it will be no surprise if he’s not far away at the finish from his handy draw.

In Race 3 we have Twilight Bromac in our colours for the first time. He’s been knocking on the door with some good placings. He came to us very fit and while we haven’t had him long he’s shown us enough to know he’ll be one to watch out for going forward.

Ron McKinley is a first starter in Race 4, after plenty of trial experience. We’ve had him since a youngster and he’s shown a lot of ability (and some quirks), and he’s raring to go. After winning his most recent trial we’re expecting a bold showing from the two draw. He’ll take a lot out of his first race day experience and certainly one to watch going forward.

Rocknroll Diva pleased us immensely resuming at Rangiora and she’s taken a lot out of that race. We expect her to be hard to beat in Race 5 despite the second row draw.

Regular stable driver Matthew Williamson drives all four horses Sunday.

We also had Itz The Con Artist entered for Race 1, but after trialling during the week he’ll be kept for a later date. Another newcomer we’re very pleased to have.

Last Saturday our yearling purchases were put through their paces in front of a large contingent of owners, several of them first timers. The colts all behaved well and we’re rapt with them all as they go for a break.
